Graffitti skate board park Read some where the powers that be, might be looking to close down this 80 meters graffiti stretch, as it's considered a bit of an eye sore. I guess only to be replaced by more coffee and latte bars to rip off the many tourists who come down to the South Bank year in year out. It would be a great shame if they did, as it's the one part of the South Bank that teenagers and kids identify with.

The show must go on @ the Graffiti Skate Board Park In the midst of all the skate boarding and bmx bike kids along the South Bank skate board park. There was this one kid, who once helped down the ramp with his wheel chair, hobbled around on he's one good leg to do some graffiti tagging. Safe to assume that he probably broke it while honing his skills doing some dare devil stunt. Read some where the powers that be, might be looking to close down this 80 meters graffiti stretch, as it's considered a bit of an eye sore. Squirrel Pastry, Yummy Yummy!!

			<![CDATA[
To paraphrase Bruce the shark from finding Nemo "......squirrel's are friends, not food!!!" I doubt if this has anything to do with the current credit crunch, but this little bugger could be ending up in a supermarket, butchers, Kebarb, 'Suya', BBQ shop near u soon. Read in the Metro a couple of months back, that Squirrel pastries were so popular in a bakery up North, that they now had to take orders well in advance. You really couldn't make this up, and I wonder how the RSPCA would react to this current trend. Well am off squirrel hunting in St James Park, I'll probably need a licence since it's a royal park. Here's an extract from an article I got off the Internet. Shop supplies posh restaurant with squirrel meat10:47am Friday 7th March 2008 A VILLAGE shop is struggling to keep up with its customer's demands - for grey squirrel meat. Ridley's Fish and Game has sold 30 squirrels this week alone. Owners David and Carolyn Ridley have adopted the slogan "eat a grey, save a red" and such as been the interest in the delicacy, they have been bowled over by the demand. Now the shop is supplying Matfen Hall Hotel's restaurant, where confit of squirrel in a chestnut terrine has already proved a popular addition to the menu. The shop - based in Corbridge, Northumberland - started stocking the meat in January and has regularly sold out since. "I think it's the initial novelty value and having something different to try which is making a lot of people go for the squirrel. "At the moment, we are processing the squirrels as soon as they come in, but game would usually be hung for a while first. "Squirrel doesn't need to be hung though - the meat has a wonderful flavour of its own. It is quite sweet and has the versatility of most game meats. "It has gone down very well with our customers."The above extract is from the on-line Northern Echo 2008

I have a lot of admiration and kudos for Landscape photographers, waking up at the crack of dawn in all types of weather conditions and hanging around from early evening to late evening, just to get the perfect light conditions requires an obscene amount of patience and dedication. Made friends with a guy called Jim along the South Bank a few years ago, he always came prepared with deck chair, thermo flask, wireless radio, ipod, umbrella, believe me the only thing he didn't have was a stove. I once asked him why he was willing to spend hours or even days just to get an image of a few clouds coming over the horizon, and he replied that if I popped back down the next evening he would explain why. Saw him the next evening, and he showed me a portfolio of amazing images (am talking Geographic society quality) he took on a visit to the Death Valley in the US and a series of images of the Thames basked in glorious mid evening light, which in effect answered my question. There are a few of our fellow SC bloggers who daily post really amazing landscape images, that remind me of Jim, much kudos to you all. On a stroll through St James Park to Whitehall the sun came up over my shoulder and created these lovely shadows on the foreground and cloud formation, by the time I could change to iso 100 the sun had gone down and the light went flat, all in a matter of seconds. Was caught up in two minds regarding PP, so I've decided to post 2 different versions. The BandW version is scheduled for tomorrow.
