50TH
"Photography is a craft and you have to work at it to get better. There are no shortcuts." Anonymous

The above quote is one I picked up a few years ago, and rings through in relation to whatever field we find our selves. And I've come to learn (the hard way) over the years that there are indeed no short cuts.

Exposure, Focusing, lighting, composition, framing are all fundamentals of basic photography we still grapple with every time we pick up a camera.  And in some instances have to compromise on one to achieve the other. Some times we get it right and some times we don't, but photography being a very subjective medium, means maybe we do get it right all the time depending on who's looking at our images.

Living in a world of High Definition, glossy magazines with all their air brushed celebrity images, size 0 models, and society placing more emphasis on aesthetics rather than substance, makes our roles as photographers equally interesting. I once did a portrait shoot for a client, who was very much insistent that I airbrush all their images, if they were for commercial use I would have understood why, but they weren't!!.

This is the 50th image I've posted on SC and it exhibits the same amount of commitment and creativity (subjective and debatable :-) ) that has gone into the previous 49.
