I have a lot of admiration and kudos for Landscape photographers, waking up at the crack of dawn in all types of weather conditions and hanging around from early evening to late evening, just to get the perfect light conditions requires an obscene amount of patience and dedication.

Made friends with a guy called Jim along the South Bank a few years ago, he always came prepared with deck chair, thermo flask, wireless radio, ipod, umbrella, believe me the only thing he didn't have was a stove. I once asked him why he was willing to spend hours or even days just to get an image of a few clouds coming over the horizon, and he replied that if I popped back down the next evening he would explain why. Saw him the next evening, and he showed me a portfolio of amazing images (am talking Geographic society quality) he took on a visit to the Death Valley in the US and a series of images of the Thames basked in glorious mid evening light, which in effect answered my question. There are a few of our fellow SC bloggers who daily post really amazing landscape images, that remind me of Jim, much kudos to you all.
