1st Day of Half Term

Half term was just over a couple of weeks ago. It's so amazing how much energy kids exert when they are not pre-occupied doing something constructive. Over the last few years I've come to discover that it really doesn't matter be they boys or girls, it's still the same. In the defence of girls, they have a natural instint  at finding things to do. Boys on the other hand, you usually have to cajole them into doing stuff. I'll leave that to the good folks of SC to debate :-)

So to calm this young girl down I got her to pose for a seris of shots, but that lasted all for about 5 minutes and she was off again bouncing off the walls. God give me strength!!

Oh this is so precious. Are you a teacher?
Fotografa: Thanks Kathryn. No am not a teacher, but a dad to 2 young girls who are equally has demanding as their nephews and other boys & girls their age smile

Lovely portrait! If you want to get her to slow down for a few more minutes, ask her to take some pictures of you!
Fotografa: Thanks Patrushka. I've just started her off on one of my Kodak compact point and shoot cameras smile
Great portrait. Did you use a snoot or grid on the flash? If not how did you get the flash to avoid light spill and shine only on the face?
Fotografa: Cheers Chichi.

No flash just diffused window lighting. Rather than place her full face on to the light source, I’ve positioned her at a slight angle that the side facing away from the window falls into shadow. And then used the dodge & burn tool for the background and around the edges.
